Small sites, made on purpose

One person, a list of ideas, and a rule that each one has to be finishable in a weekend.

What this is

A workshop for small, self-contained web tools and games. Some are genuinely useful, some are jokes with a working button attached, and a few are hard to tell apart. Each one is built to do a single thing on a single page, with no sign-up and nothing to install.

How they get made

Every idea goes through the same two checks before a line of code is written: can it be built in a weekend, and does anything like it already exist? The second question kills most of them — the obvious ideas usually turn out to have five live competitors already. The ones that survive get built, shipped, and then judged on whether anyone actually uses them.

How it pays for itself

Domains and servers cost money, so these sites carry ads, and some pages link to products with affiliate links, marked as such where they appear. That is the whole business model. Nothing here is sold, no mailing list is harvested, and what you type into the tools is never collected — the privacy page covers that in detail.
